We only use positive training methods supported by research on dog behaviour. We will never use methods that intimidate or harm your dog. Our trainer will use games to keep you and your dog engaged in training.
In puppy training class you will learn the basic commands every owner wants their dog to know, sit, stay, loose leash walking and recall. We do this in a fun interactive way, helping you understand the way your dog learns - giving you training skills for life. In adolescent skills class we develop this further and add in emergency stops, food manners, control through doorways and more.
Please bring the following to each class: your dog’s bed/blanket, a selection of your dog’s favourite treats (some treats will be made available in class) and one of his/her favourite toys. Please note flexible/extending leads are not permitted in class, nor are prong or shock collars.
You will receive a course of six weekly lessons, a course booklet (for puppy class), a small treat at the end of each class to help your dog settle, access to the trainer outside of class times and a certificate of completion for your dog.
You will be offered a 1:1 zoom session to catch up, or an in person 1:1 for a small fee.
Yes! Your class will have the option of setting up a dedicated WhatsApp group, where you can talk to each other - and the trainer, or you can email the trainer at any time.
Train the trainer is defined as giving people skills to pass on to others. We give you the knowledge needed to help your dog learn in the best way, meaning you can attribute these skills to any task you wish to teach - giving you the opportunity of lifelong learning.
Most of the treats offered in class are 100% natural. There will be no chicken or beef based treats as these are common allergens in dogs. If you would prefer the trainer only uses your own treats for your dog please let them know at the start of class.
